Perkins Road, Frankton

Above the Frankton Arm overlooking Lake Wakatipu, a derelict traditional A-frame, sitting on a lean towards the lake, has been cleverly restored and given a new life. This was a build to remember. The existing ground-floor structure was demolished and the house propped granting the addition of a new ground floor comprising two bedrooms, a bathroom, laundry and garage. Raw exposed-steel beams and portal frames were stitched into the existing structure allowing the large dormers to expand the living spaces emphasising the spectacular views. Spilling out onto the large macrocarpa decks, entertaining spaces combine.
